P.S., the forum admins will probably move this post to the Windows Fonts forum soon, so don't be overly surprised if you can find this post where you posted it. They did not realized that they had to unzip the file first. They are individual files that are activated (turned on) through. Some people I have helped have simple dropped a zipped file in to the Fonts folder and then wondered why the font was not working. The important thing to understand about fonts is that they are not part of QuarkXPress. Thus, you will probably have to uncompress the file. Applications such as InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop, QuarkXPress 7 (and higher). Lastly if you do download any free fonts just be aware that most of the time the fonts themselves are compressed so that lots of people out there like you can easily download them in one file. While all OpenType fonts will work in nearly all existing software. is one place I frequent from time to time. Just be careful because there are quite a lot of junk fonts out there that just look bad or don't work. But there are a lot of free fonts out there as well. Font managers are applications that allow you to manage all your fonts and make it possible for you to store the fonts you have anywhere you wish (excepting system fonts of course).įonts can indeed be purchased. If however, you intend over time to be installing many fonts you may wish to invest in a font manager. If all you are doing is installing a couple of fonts you're good. Or if you prefer, just go to Control Panels, double-click fonts and then from the file menu install your font. Any font you may want to install can simply be placed in the C:\WINDOWS\FONTS folder.
